ABOUT DR. STANKOVICH

Dr. Chris Stankovich is the Founder of Advanced Human Performance Systems, offering sport science and performance enhancement training and counseling to athletes, coaches, sport administrators, and teams. Dr. Stankovich is a graduate of The Ohio State University and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and has been featured for his professional work in numerous national media outlets, including ABC World News, Fox Sports, USA Today, Washington Post, New York Post, and many more.
Dr. Stankovich has authored/co-authored 5 books, including Positive Transitions for Student Athletes, The Parents Playbook, Sport Success 360, Optimal Balance, and Mind of Steel. He also developed the world’s first sport psychology mental toughness assessment app (Sport Performance Assessment – SPA) for the iPhone, and he continues to be a pioneer in the field of sport performance science by recently launching Sport Success 360 online sport culture training course designed to help coaches, athletes, parents, and sport administrators more successfully identify and respond to contemporary psychosocial issues commonly experienced in sports.
Dr. Stankovich recently published Tough Topics, Practical Solutions, a 2-DVD collection designed to help coaches and student athletes develop safe and healthy boundaries, as well as prevent unhealthy sports hazing. Last year, Dr. Stankovich and Championship Productions teamed up and produced the very popular “Winning the Mental Moments” DVD series designed to help athletes and coaches improve mental toughness, especially during those critical moments. Dr. Stankovich has also created My Game My Life, a sport education curriculum designed to help student athletes use athletic transferable skills to become better role models off the field.
In addition to his direct work with clients, Dr. Stankovich also regularly contributes to the National Federation of High School magazines High School Today and Coaches Quarterly, as well as the Ohio High School Athletic Association magazine and the National Examiner. Dr. Stankovich is also an adjunct college professor, having taught numerous psychology and sport psychology courses at Wittenberg University, Kenyon College, Capital University, Otterbein University, the University of Dayton, Ohio State University, and Ashland University. Dr. Stankovich is actively involved in numerous sport/education boards, including H-Leadership, Majority of One minority student athlete organization, and the Sport Management Board at Ohio Dominican University, and is regularly featured on NBC Columbus (OH) for his “Sports Doc Minute” television segments designed to help athletes, coaches, and parents maximize the sport experience.
